Bob was assistant swim team coach and head lessons instructor at the club in the early 1960s and later served as the club's general manager. He later served as California's Commissioner of the Arts and now holds a senior staff position in the California Legislature. Beth and Peter were outstanding AAU Age Group swimmers on the club team. Her speciality was freestyle and she often anchored Sacramento Swimming and Diving League championship relay teams. Peter's speciality was breastroke and he, too, swam on many championship relay teams and later in college. After 24 years' service, Beth departed the Bank of America, where she was a vice president, and became VP/Commercial Lender at Irwin Union Bank's Sacramento operation. In June, 2005, she and Ed Schatz married and she took his name. They are building a home in West Sacramento. In September, 2005 Peter retired as Chief Consultant for the Assembly Republican Office of Policy in the California State Legislature to become the Pharmaceutical Research Manufacturers Association's State Policy Directory for California. He has been married for 25 years and has a son and a daughter, both high achievers.
